Hold the Chimella by the handle, point it up your open chimney with your thumb over the open/close button.

Take your thumb off the button. Gently twist the handle from side to side to push the canopy into the corners of the flue.

Still holding the handle, use your other hand to grip the metal ring half way up the shaft.

Gently pull your hands apart. This adds tension to the canopy. Release both hands, your Chimella will stay in position.
